2021 Rose Pak Memorial Scholarship

Check out this amazing scholarship opportunity from The Rose Pak Community Fund, a local organization serving SF’s API community:

​What is the Rose Pak Memorial Scholarship?

The Rose Pak Memorial Scholarship is a merit-based award offered to students of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) origin, who is from San Francisco Bay Area and wants to get an education in preparation for a career in public service. The 2021 Rose Pak Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to five students in the amount up to $5,000 each. The scholarship may be applied to tuition only. We will not accept applications from international or foreign-exchange students.

​Who are the Rose Pak Scholars?

​Rose Pak Scholars are API students who have been recognized by the Rose Pak Memorial Scholarship as future leaders in the community. They have the drive to serve the community and have demonstrated leadership potential in the past that in time should enable them to improve the ways that public entities – be they government agencies, nonprofit organizations, public and private educational institutions, or advocacy organizations – serve the public good.

​Who is eligible to receive a Rose Pak Memorial Scholarship?

​1. Asian Pacific Islander (API) students who are entering or currently enrolled in an accredited 4-year college or university as an undergraduate in 2021 fall or 2022 Spring semester

2. Students must be from San Francisco Bay Area, a member of the Asian Pacific Islander (API) community, and from a low-income family

3. Priority for applicants who are the first in their immediate families to attend college.

Applicants must demonstrate experience of leadership and an intent to pursue a career in public service. A career in public service is defined as working in an area that will advance the empowerment and improvement of outcomes for low-income communities and communities of color. This can encompass working in a community-based nonprofit organization, the public sector, and elected office.

2021 ADDYs Submissions now open!

We’re now accepting entries for the 2020/2021 American Advertising Awards competition (a.k.a. Student ADDYS Awards). As always, the School of Advertising will be sponsoring a select number of entries. If you would like to have your work considered for submission and payment by the university, please complete the ADV Competitions Submission form by Monday January 18, 2021. Mary Kay cosmetics is looking for you to create a 360 omni-channel brand image campaign. This global campaign would target 20-25 year old women with the goal of introducing this demographic to the Mary Kay brand by highlighting and celebrating Mary Kay’s core values, unique culture of empowering women, and heritage of celebrating women business owners.
