Looking for job opportunities? Networking? A chance to show off your portfolio? Apply now to participate in the School of Web Design & New Media’s exclusive Ideate Portfolio Review! The participants for this portfolio review will be selected based on application only, so be sure to apply by May 1 in order to be considered.

WNM Students can view more information about Ideate here, including guidelines, eligibility, FAQ, and the application form.

The Ideate Conference is Friday, May 25 at The School of Web Design & New Media (180 New Montgomery St., 5th Floor). Due to all the exciting end-of-semester Academy of Art events like Spring Show and Commencement, this semester’s Ideate Conference will only feature the Portfolio Review component.

The portfolio review is an opportunity for WNM students to meet with industry for portfolio review and networking opportunities. Many WNM graduates took their first steps into careers by way of the connections made at Ideate. This event is open to onsite and online students.

The deadline to apply for this semester’s Ideate Portfolio Review is Tuesday, May 1. Space is limited, so late applications will not be accepted. We strongly encourage graduating seniors for spring 2018 and summer 2018 to apply, as they will receive priority in the selection process. Selected students will be notified by email on May 11.

All students need to have a valid portfolio website link to apply. The portfolio site can be in-progress until May 24.

It is a requirement for all students who apply to the Ideate Portfolio Review to also submit work to a student competition. Students are required to include the name of the competition in the application. This can be the name of the competition to where the student’s work has already been submitted to this semester or the name of the competition the student intends to submit work to (if the competition’s deadline has not yet passed).

For example, if a student is working on a submission for the Adobe Design Achievement Awards, which has a deadline of June 4, they do not have to complete this contest submission before applying to the Ideate Portfolio Review. We understand the student may want to work on their contest submission until the deadline. When you fill out your Ideate Portfolio Review application, just let us know what contest you’re preparing work for.

Our students are producing so much good work, and we think this work deserves recognition. We truly believe WNM students can be competitive with the quality of work they are creating!

Good luck with your applications, and we look forward to another successful Ideate Portfolio Review!
